If Kelly *really* wants to show off her “journalistic chops,” she’ll ask for/be given assignments such at these ones (whistleblower/opioids). Is there really any point to sending good journalists to interview pathological, murderous liars like Putin, or insane conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones? NBC could just send anyone with a microphone and you’re still going to get the same nonsense out of those two. However, Kelly is at her best (and I think *some* credit to be given to her because she’s pretty sharp at times) when she’s arguing about the law and various policies, so sending her to cover e.g., pharmaceutical companies pushing drugs of addiction, the free speech infringements like we see on campuses etc., or to Wall Street to see what the hell is the next big thing that will destroy our economy could be really informative and good television.
